Do this one thing to never miss a workout

Lately, I've been finding it harder to stick to my routine and feel motivated to hit the gym after work. The last few weeks have been stressful and tiring, so by the time I arrive home, all I want to do is relax.

I allow myself to chill for a bit, but before I know it, it's midnight and I'm exhausted and ready for bed. I tell myself I'll just workout tomorrow, and the downward spiral continues.

However, one night I discovered one trick that helped me get by butt to the gym, even when I was feeling super lazy and tired. I told myself that I didn't have to do anything too strenuous, all I needed to do was walk on the treadmill.

Walk? I could do that. That's easy. I could do that half-asleep.

Before I knew it, my attitude completely changed and I jumped up to go put on my gym clothes. I realized that I wasn't too tired to workout, I was just too tired to do something more strenuous like BBG circuits or running.

I was so overwhelmed with the thought of doing a harder workout, that I didn't even realize that I could just do an easier one. Any workout is better than no workout, right?

I knew I could easily conquer a 30-minute walk on the treadmill at a 15% incline, so that's what I set out to do. Sure enough, after a few minutes at the gym, I was sweating and feeling energized. I was so glad that I didn't just skip the gym and go to bed.

Ever since that night, I've been using this trick every time I have felt too tired or lazy to workout. It almost always works and I never regret the workout I end up doing.

The funny thing is, there have been times when I use this trick and by the time I get walking to the gym, I realize that I could do a BBG workout if I really tried. More times than not, I end up doing the BBG circuit anyway and I crush it. By the time I finish the circuit, I am always thankful that I pushed myself to do the tougher workout.

So, the next time you're feeling like you can't workout, tell yourself that you just need to do an easier workout like walking on the treadmill or riding the bike. It will be a lot easier to get yourself to the gym and who knows, you might even surprise yourself with how much energy you really do have.
