Denver Fitness Meet-up: March Event at High Ride Cycle
It was a LONNNNNGG time coming, but I finally hosted my first fitness meet-up on Sunday! This was something that I had been wanting to do for almost a year now and after many requests from friends, I finally did it. We had our first event at High Ride Cycle, an indoor cycling studio, and it was a big success!
About a month ago, my friend Sharon and I grabbed coffee after our spin class and we started thinking about the fitness meet-ups we used to go to two summers ago, which is how we met. We both were new to Denver at the time when we showed up to a fitness meet-up at the park. After the workout we started talking and that was it. We've been friends ever since.
Shortly after that meet-up where we met, the weather started getting colder and the meet-ups became harder to plan. Over time, they stopped happening and most people forgot about them.
After talking that day over coffee, we knew we wanted to bring the meet-ups back so others could meet new friends and find people to workout with.
Together with our friend Aubrey, we reached out to friends and former meet-up members to see if they'd be interested. So many people expressed interest, so we quickly got to work on planning our first event.
Shortly after, I connected with the owner of High Ride Cycle, Megan Hanson, and she offered to host us for our first event- a 45-min indoor cycling class. We were so excited!
After a few emails back and forth, we picked a date and started spreading the word. As the RSVPs came in, we reached out to some of our favorite health brands and asked them to sponsor our event. We were so thankful for the response we received and decided to put together some goodie bags and prize giveaways for the event.
When the big day finally arrived, we were so excited to see everyone show up. The High Ride Studio was beautiful and the owners were so friendly. Megan instructed the 45-min class that was equally fun and challenging. The room was dark aside from a few glowing lights and we rode to the beat of the music, making it feel like a dance party.
Once class was over, we stretched and then went back into the common area to announce the giveaway winners and give out goodie bags. Everyone stuck around to chat and get to know each other.
Overall, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we were happy that everything went on as planned. Now that it's over, I can't wait to start planning our next event.
